When David Rodriguez launched his more affordable Red Label line for Fall 2006, one of the best-selling pieces was this button-back jacket.

The more I look at these photos the more I like them - but I want more details. Are the back buttons for show only ie does it fasten at the front or do they actually have to be buttoned up at the back... I intend to try and find one somehow...

I tried to locate photos from the original runway show that show the front, but I was unsuccessful. My guess is that the back buttons are functional (you can see the buttonholes), but it probably has a front closure as well.

If you do locate images of the front - let us know.

One of the reasons I like 60s clothing is that you accasionally find suits with jackets that deliberately button up the back... I think they sometimes look smarter and more feminine that way... but that's just my opinion, mostly it just seems that women these days want easy to wear garments...
